We went downtown to see the opening of the annual Christmas market. The guest country this year is Estonia so they had their own little village set up including this super cool merry go round that Milo took a ride on. The best part was at the Grand’Place where they have a living nativity, a giant tree decorated with lighted reindeer and a light show that casts leaping reindeer on all of the buildings in the square. Our wonderful hosts opened their lovely home to us for almost 2 weeks. The kids played very nicely (Milo was very patient to put up with not just one but two toddlers) and Zella was very good about sharing her toys. Thanks guys! (more…)

We spent this Thanksgiving in our new home with our good friends Jeannie and Tyler, their daughter Ellie and Jeannie’s brother Mike. The kids had a great time with so many adults to read them books and apple and pear hors d’ourves in a big people chair. My thanks to Alton Brown’s turkey brine recipe I think the bird turned out to be wonderful. Even Martha would be impressed with a turkey that looks like this. Great food great friends great kids we have a lot to be thankful for. (more…)
