The St. Anthony Township Cemetery was established on July 14, 1853 because of its permanent protected nature the historical society planted a tree on Saturday that will hopefully last another 150 years. They encouraged the residents to bring the kids and a watering can so we did. It was a really great way to kick off Memorial Day weekend. (more…)

We got Wavy a new chair so she could join us on the breakfast bar. I thought that her rattle would satisfy her while the rest of us got our morning started. Boy was I wrong! Check out the look she throws Cooper’s muffin. Then in true Waverly style she “asks politely” for one of her own. Sorry kiddo. I do, however, see rice cereal in your future. (more…)

We had our last ECFE class until fall and boy was it fun! Thanks to the SAV PD for letting us climb all over the police cars and to Officer Kyle who was incredibly patient with the kids. And to Miss Heather, Miss Inez, Miss Ellie, and Miss Janet who are so amazing every week. We’re so lucky to have so many people in our community that care so much for our kids.

Thanks to the SAVFD for letting us visit today. Firefighter Chris and firefighter Joey were great! All the kids got to take turns sitting in the driver’s seat of the trucks and turning on the hose. They talked to the kids about Stop Drop and Roll. And Joey put on all his gear so the kids could see what a firefighter would look like if they came into the house during a fire. We had a really great time.
Oh, and we found out why some firetrucks are yellow. (you’ll have to ask Cooper) (more…)
