Cooper and Papa Went to the Car Show March 29, 2009
Reading the paper today over breakfast this morning, I noticed it was the last day of the Twin Cities 2009 Car Show. I thought Cooper would enjoy it, so after morning snack, we hopped in the car and headed downtown.
He asked me lots of questions; “How do we get downtown?”, “Where is the car show?”, “How do you spell ‘road racer’?”
I expected we’d be in and out in under an hour. We spent nearly 2 full hours, looking at nearly every vehicle in the convention center. From tiny Smart Cars (very popular) to giant trucks (the last car Cooper sat in was the massive Nissan Armanda).
He kept a sharp eye out for race cars and race trucks (the ones with numbers on them) - we saw a few, but mostly we tried out the drivers seat and talked about he colors.
All along the way he clutched the brochure he received at the door and made me ,and many of the people working their booths, smile.
On the way out, as we licked our ice cream cones, he quipped:
“Things on TV are called ’shows’ and there were TVs in there. That’s why they called it a ’show’.”
